Item Description

Dell PowerConnect 7048P Enhanced Gigabit Ethernet fixed port switch with 10Gb uplinks. The Dell PowerConnect 7048P switch is a 48 port, layer 3 switch built with gigabit switching capabilities. The Dell 7048P features 4 SFP+ 10GbE uplink ports for stacking at up to 64 Gbps bandwith. All 48 Ethernet ports on a Dell PowerConnect switch offer power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities. the 7048 uses the 802.3af standard for powering end devices such as IP phones directly through the switch. The PowerConnect 7048P is a stackable switch with scalability for even the largest corporate networks. Up to 12 wire-speed Dell PowerConnect 7048P switches can be managed as a single unit. The Dell 7048P does all this while maintaining energy efficient Ethernet to help reduce power costs for your business. The power supply on a Dell 7048P is 80+ (80 Plus) certified to help reduce excess heat from the power supply. The Dell PowerConnect 7048P can be configured by a USB connection. Rapidly deploy a custom configuration for your 7048P switch through a USB flash drive. Another major improvement of the Dell 7048P is the switch's iSCSI optimization. The 7048P is designed to automatically detect and configure the switch for a Dell EqualLogic SAN array environment.

Condition: These network switch are lightly used models. All network switch were reset to factory default settings and all 48 ports were tested for network / internet connection. All network switch are fully functional and will come with 60 day warranty. Please note: The images shown in the ad represent the general condition of the product. Since we have more than 1 network switch in stock, the condition may vary and not match 100% with the network switch shown in the photo.

Overview:

High throughput
Supports wire-speed performance with up to 48 ports of GbE and optional 4x 10GbE uplink ports and/or stacking at 64 Gbps of bandwidth.

Scalable with high availability
Manages up to 12 wire-speed switches as a single unit, each with redundant power and fan options.

High performance
Help meet your network switching needs, no matter how large your organization, with the Dell Networking 7048P. It features 48 ports of wire-speed L3 GbE plus robust security and enterprise management capabilities. USB configuration for rapid deployment, dedicated 64GB stacking interfaces and 10GB uplinks help you grow your wiring closets with your network.
Stack up to 12 switches (managed as a single unit) for high-performance availability and failover deployments, including those with Dell Networking M6348 high-density 48-port I/O (input/output) modules for the PowerEdge M1000E blade enclosure.

iSCSI optimization
Help save time when configuring your internet SCSI (iSCSI) storage area network (SAN). Dell Networking 7000 series switches automatically detect EqualLogic™ arrays and configure the switch for iSCSI environments, at both global and port levels. The 7000 series also provides information about all active iSCSI sessions to help enable easier management and optimization.

VoIP functionality
Help ensure that voice over internet protocol (VoIP) traffic is prioritized, in the event of resource contention, through the voice VLAN function. LLDP-MED provides detailed network topology records, troubleshooting data and emergency call service via IP phone location information.

Rapid deployment and configuration

Help save deployment time and costs by simplifying your network rollout with Dell Networking 7000 series Gigabit Ethernet switches. Use local USB to easily assign switch configuration, updates and addressing during initial rollout. You can also choose alternative auto-configuration options, such as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

Robust management

You'll enjoy a number of management options with Dell Networking 7000 Series switches, including:
• A powerful and industry-standard command-line interface
• Remote management using an embedded web server
• Support for SNMP-based management applications
• Managing up to 600 ports from a single IP address in a stack of multiple 7000 series switches

Automated security
Select from multiple security levels, with options that include such enterprise-class features as:
• SSH/SSL management encryption
• DHCP snooping
• IP and MAC-based access control lists (ACL)
• Access password protection
• Port-based MAC address alert and lockdown

High-level security is provided through:
•RADIUS (RFC 2865) and TACACS+ (RFC 1492) remote authentication for switch management access
• Management access filtering via management access profiles
Dell Networking 7000 switches can also help simplify security rollouts by enabling you to try implementation before full enforcement is enabled. This can help smoothen your transition to a secure network for your enterprise.

Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+)
Help lower power consumption with the Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at) capabilities of the Dell Networking 7048P. It can provide up to 30.8 watts of power for such network-attached devices as WLAN access points and VoIP handsets. PoE+ helps simplify network installation and maintenance by reducing the need for power adapters and power planning.

Energy conscious
Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) architecture helps reduce power to ports in sleep mode or cut power to inactive ports while the 80 PLUS-certified power supply lowers overall power and cooling costs.
